Welcome graphic

To the New George Horner Ice Park--just one mile west of the former Ice Park; down Phillips Field Road, across Peger Road to the end of Phillips Field Road. We love the new location!

The 2012 World Ice Art Championships, opened on February 28 with the 2012 Single Block Classic.  There are 38 teams participating from China, Russia, Japan, Portugal, Spain and the USA.

There is still a lot of work ahead to begin getting the park built into a world class ice park but, the good news is - - the new park is it is owned by Ice Alaska and the community.

We are beyond grateful to the folks at the Alaska Railroad for all the invaluable help moving the Park's infrastructure. We also appreciate the 16 wonderful years of experience gained at the Ice Park on their Phillips Field Road property.

So plan to please look beyond the many rough edges and join us at the New George Horner Ice Art Park for our traditional Alaska celebration of spring we Alaskans have enjoyed as a rite of passage.

In the meantime, we at Ice Alaska hope you have an 'ice day!
